Quite a bad habit, blindly following expectations set by others instead of your own. A bad habit indeed to loose yourself and allow others to guide you down your path. Who dictates society? Who among us is judge of what is and is not to be? If we refuse to ask questions then we are content with whatever reality is served to us. I am never content with anything that threatens my autonomy and personal well-being. Questioning is a radical endeavor, a taboo to frighten us lest we become ostracized. Why have we clung tightly to certain factions of thought and belief? Why have we been grasping so feverishly to put ourselves and one other into a box? A box that clouds our hopes and dreams, our very spirit of living. A box which prevents us from seeking new and different experiences, information, perspectives, and community. We become comfortable and so accustomed that we decide to keep flowing with the raging torrent already forcing us a certain way. We forget there are no boxes except the ones we ourselves create to hide the fact that we have far more power and control than we have been led to believe.
